Aleksandra Silik

I could have become a pastor with higher theological education or a “white collar” with my Master's in Finance. But indomitable curiosity, a thirst for justice, addiction to strict facts and a desire to dive into human destinies got me into journalism. My perfect match happened more than 8 years ago with work on TV-news. I’m Ukrainian. I had been working in Kyiv, until the war began. After a month in a shelter under bomb attacks, I fled to Germany to continue writing about people and events in my country.

Year of birth: 1994
Country of residence: Ukraine, but currently living in Germany
